01/28/2010 - Oakland, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Chris Paul scored 38 points and added nine assists and six rebounds, leading the New Orleans Hornets to a 123-110 victory over the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena.
Paul went 14-of-19 from the field for the Hornets, who have won four of five and finished a four-game road trip 3-1. Marcus Thornton added 18 points, while Emeka Okafor had 12 with 12 rebounds in the win.
"This was a big (road) trip for us," Paul said. "Coming into this trip, we said 'Let's get the first one,' then it's like 'Let's get the second one.' We went into some tough venues. We wish we could have gotten four (wins) on this trip, but everyone knows the road has been our Achilles' heel. That's why our record is what it is. So it's good to establish ourselves on the road."
Peja Stojakovic contributed 14 points, and David West had 17 points and 12 rebounds for New Orleans, which shot 52.3 percent and went 27-of-29 from the free throw line.
C.J. Watson had a season-high 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting for the Warriors, who have lost three straight and seven of nine. Monta Ellis returned from a two-game absence (ankle) and had 19 points, nine assists and six rebounds, and Stephen Curry had 15 points and eight assists in a losing effort.
"We had no answer for Chris Paul. The guy is unbelievable," said Warriors head coach Don Nelson. "I don't know what to say -- he's an incredible player. We lick our wounds, get a little practice tomorrow and get ready to play Charlotte."
Golden State jumped out to an 11-0 lead right away, but the Hornets later answered with 11 straight points to take a 16-13 lead. The rest of the opening quarter remained tight, and New Orleans held a 33-30 edge after 12 minutes.
Paul converted a three-point play early in the second for a 40-32 advantage, but Ronny Turiaf's free throw with 4 1/2 minutes left put Golden State in front, 47-45.
The game was later tied, 53-53, before New Orleans closed the half on a 9-2 run. Another three-point play from Paul gave the visitors a 62-55 advantage at halftime.
The Hornets extended their lead in the third, as a West basket made it 76-65 with a little more than seven minutes on the clock. Paul later capped an 8-0 burst for an 84-67 advantage, and New Orleans took an insurmountable 96-75 into the fourth.

Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Odds
Will he or won't he? Now that the Dallas Cowboys have a new head coach in Wade Phillips, the big question will be: Does Terrell Owens stay with the team.
Jerry Jones continues to suggest that Terrell Owens will remain with the team.
"I've said that he's back, he's here, he's under contract," Jones said. "In the interviews I've just been through (to hire a new coach), it was very clear to me how highly he's thought of and how much of an impact he had on our offensive success."
Just to be sure though, Terrell Owens cleared out his locker and removed his name plate.
Terrell Owens was among the Cowboys most productive players this past season, catching 85 passes for 1,180 yards and a league-best 13 touchdowns.
But T.O. is due a $3 million roster bonus in June, then a $5 million salary this season. Cutting him before then would save a lot of money and headaches.
Aside from the questions surrounding Terrell Owens, the oddsmakers at MySportsbook.com have concerns over starting quarterback Tony Romo's state of mind and whether he will remain a starting quarterback. It is also not known how players will adjust to new head coach, Wade Phillips.

Albert Pujols to be This Year's Home Run Champ Says Online Sportsbook
Barry Bonds is a 50-1 long shot to be this year's home run champ odds. The favorite to be this year's home run champ is none other than Albert Pujols, however.
Now that Barry Bonds is signed and in Giants camp, it is on to his pursuit of all of sports most prestigious records: the all-time home run mark. Bonds sits just 21 homers shy of tying Hank Aaron for the career mark at 755. Word out of Giants’ camp is that Bonds is the healthiest he has been in a few years. Bonds is just two seasons removed from his injury riddled 2005 campaign where he played in only 14 games and hit only 5 home runs. He did come back last year and had a solid season hitting .270 with 26 bombs. All eyes will be on Bonds this spring and summer not only because of his home run chase but his highly publicized steroid abuse allegations. If and when Bonds breaks the record, he surely will not get the positive attention one should for breaking a record that was once thought of as “unbreakable”. Despite Bonds decent season last year, he is just 50-1 at MySportsbook.com to lead the MLB in long balls this season.
Not surprisingly, the favorites to go deep the most times this season are Albert Pujols 5-1, Ryan Howard 6-1, David Ortiz 8-1 and Alex Rodriguez 12-1. With 49 homers, Pujols finished second in the National League behind Howard (58). Pujols is considered the favorite due to the consistent power numbers that he has posted since breaking into the league in 2001. Also one must consider the fact that he played in 16 fewer games then Howard did due to an injury. Howard smashed 58 homers in his first complete season of big league play en route to the National League MVP odds award. He silenced his critics by successfully hitting left-handed pitching. Howard also displayed the ability to use his power to the opposite field. Two attributes which should keep Howard amongst the league leaders in long balls for years to come. From the American League representatives, David Ortiz leads the field. Ortiz was second in the majors last year with 54 home runs. Except for 1999 when he only played in 10 games, Ortiz has improved on his home run numbers each year he has been in the majors (1997).
