Sabres bring in Niedermayer

07/07/2010 - Buffalo, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to terms with free agent center Rob Niedermayer on a one-year contract.

The 35-year-old Niedermayer registered 10 goals and 12 assists in 71 games last season with New Jersey.

Originally taken fifth overall by Florida in the 1993 draft, Niedermayer has 181 goals and 450 points in 1,082 career games with the Panthers, Flames, Ducks and Devils.

Niedermayer won a Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007.

The Sabres also announced Wednesday that defenseman Mike Weber has agreed to his qualifying offer and signed a one-year deal.

Weber, 22, played 80 games with Buffalo's American Hockey League affiliate in Portland last season, tallying five goals and 16 assists. He has three assists in 23 career NHL games with the Sabres.
